So how have you been feeling since the last time we spoke?
Sometimes I feel like I have the blues.
Lately I've been feeling a little down in the dumps about everything.
Sometimes I feel like no matter what I do things don't get better.
Why do you think you feel that way?
Well, I've been really stressed out at work ever since we started this new project.
I also recently went through a major break-up, so that's been throwing me off.
I've been so busy it just feels like I'm being pulled in too many directions.
Does your stress level interfere with your work or home life?
When I'm stressed out it's difficult for me to fall asleep.
When my stress level is high, it's hard for me to concentrate at work.
It's sometimes hard to unwind at night after a long day of work.
What do you think you can do to change the way you feel?
I think it's best to make an effort not to bottle things up inside.
I think it helps to have someone I can vent to about it.
I think it makes me feel better to address an issue when it comes up instead of putting it off.
I think it helps to set aside some "me time" every day.
What kinds of lifestyle changes can you make to help you feel better?
I think I would feel better if I had more time to hang out with my friends and family.
I'd like to start working out regularly to blow off some steam.
I could start taking baths before I go to bed to wind down after a long day.
What other treatment options are there for mental health problems?
If you find you aren't responding to lifestyle changes, we can discuss options for medication.
Let's make a follow-up appointment to discuss an integrated treatment plan.
Most treatments involve a balance of therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes.
