to sound familliar
Usage:
used when people think they've heard something before, but aren't sure; often negative: "That doesn't ring a bell."
Sample Dialogue:
A: Do you remember a guy from high school name Robert Sanchez?
B: Robert Sanchez? That rings a belll, but what did he look like?
A: Really tall, skinny, always wore blue shoes.
B: That guy! Oh, yeah! I remember him.
